We’re Excited For EAT. GIVE. GROW. 2014!

April 22, 2014

We hope everyone has had a lovely start to their spring and is looking forward to all the delicious local food that summer brings! One way that we like to kick-off summer eating is through our annual EAT. GIVE. GROW. Campaign! For the entire month of June, participating restaurants will be adding $1 to a special Growing Chefs! menu item to help raise funds for our Classroom Gardening Program. Each extra dollar goes directly towards teaching kids about urban agriculture, local food, healthy cooking, and proper nutrition.

The incredible support from last year’s participating restaurants raised almost $8,000, which helped us place over 100 chef volunteers in 34 classrooms this year. We hope that EAT. GIVE. GROW. 2014 will help us reach even more kids in the upcoming year!

Participation in this campaign is super straightforward and doesn’t place a huge financial burden on restaurants or customers. Restaurants simply add $1 to a popular menu item(s) of their choice – a dessert, a drink special, anything! – and that dollar goes straight to funding our program. Not only will you help raise money and awareness, but we will be sure to provide your restaurant with extensive media coverage and promotion for the event, too! If you are interested in being a participating restaurant, or may know someone that is, please visit our website here and here for more details.

If you are simply a foodie, and love dining out and trying new restaurants across the city, we hope you decide to try out an EAT. GIVE. GROW. establishment during the month of June! Once restaurants start signing up, we will have a list of participating restaurants on our website – be sure to check this page for regular updates!
