Growing Chefs! beyond the classroom…..

August 28, 2013

Although it has only been a month and a bit, are you missing the Classroom Gardening program? I know I have! In the meantime, let’s take a look at our intern Shirley’s last blog post for us about one of her last sessions with Growing Chefs!

The excited and energetic students of Simon Fraser Elementary joined together to transplant their vegetable plants from Growing Chefs! to the community garden. Students marched one at a time over to a nearby garden.

Every student passed their potted plant over and watched Chef Stuart carefully transplant our beans.

Then, students excitedly went up to Chef Trish to get a bean for their own potted plant to bring home to their families!

Don’t forget to compost!

Finally, the students of Simon Fraser proudly shook hands and gave High-5’s with all the chefs as they received their Growing Chefs! certificates!

Have a wonderful summer!
Thank you everyone for your teamwork and dedication.  It was a wonderful experience to be part of your class!
