Lettuce Taste Test

May 25, 2011

In Lesson 4, chefs bring in a variety of lettuce for students to try–endive, arugula, watercress, leaf lettuce, and all sorts of other leafy greens. The students come up with words to describe their reactions to each lettuce, explaining why they do or don’t like it.

Some of the reactions are favourable.

And some are not!

Students are encouraged to try new things, even if it’s just a bite. The students then try to explain why they do or don’t like what they’ve tasted. And for the most part, they enjoy the different lettuces they try.

Some students even take the time to make tasting notes!
