Gearing up for Eat. Give. Grow.
This June we’ll be running our second annual Eat. Give. Grow. Campaign. We’re getting really excited by the number of restaurants and businesses agreeing to be on board. So far we have ten! Last year, we had 19 restaurants who helped us raise almost $8,000. Our top fundraisers were:
Organic Lives – $3,340
Kitsilano Boathouse – $1,000
Maenam – $720
This year we’re hoping to beat our goal from last year! How the campaign works is we ask restaurants or businesses to add a $1 to a menu item or retail item (or items!) of their choice for the month of June. That extra dollar goes directly to supporting our classroom gardening program–and to helping us provide the program to even more classrooms and kids! The amazing support of the 17 participating restaurants last year (see the full list) helped us grow the program from 17 classrooms in 2010 to 28 classrooms in 2011!
The campaign is super simple to run. And doesn’t put a huge financial burden on the restaurants or the customers, which is important to us. But the addition of that dollar can be a huge help to our program!
I’ll be sure to post the full list of restaurants once we have it! If you know someone who might be interested in participating, please get in touch with us! And when it’s time to decide where to dine or shop in June, we hope you’ll pick an Eat. Give. Grow. establishment!
